A unit of work based on developing drawing skills, linked with World War 1 and War Artists.
This unit would be suitable for LKS2 and UKS2 (Y3 - Y6).
Included:
Power Point with resources needed for each lesson;
Examples of famous American and UK War Artists’ work with opportunities for evaluation;
Drawing practice slides, resources and video link;
Figure drawing.
I am based on the Isle of Wight, so the historical focus is on the Isle of Wight Rifles - the regiment based there during WW1. You could use as is, or adapt to include the regiment in your location. The lower price reflects this.
A six-week unit of painting, suitable for Y3 - Y6.
Covers colour mixing, wash, composition, layering, warm and cool colours;
Focus artist - Hokusai (the Great Wave off Kagawa);
Links with geography (earthquakes and volcanoes).
A 6 week unit of work on the medium of printing.
This unit would be suitable for years 3 - 6.
Pupils will study a variety of contemporary artists working in print.
Pupils will explore a range of printing techniques including printing with found objects, collagraph and foam board printing.
The final outcome of the unit is a foam board print, based around your History, Geography or English topic.
